Acer Palmatum Group: Green

‘Eddisbury’ is a reliable and desirable coral-bark maple, rather like the popular ‘Sango kaku’,

with medium-sized palmatum-type leaves. It does not grow as high as ‘Sango kaku’ and it’s deeper, bright red shoots and leaf stalks contrast markedly with the green leaves throughout

the growing season. In springtime the new shoots are a lighter yellow-green with red-tinged

tips and edges. Mid summer the leaves are green with red tips turning a golden yellow

in autumn. This sturdy, upright plant grows vigorously when young.
