Acer Palmatum Group: Red
This cultivar is a seedling selection. The large leaves are divided almost to the leaf base. The lobes are long-ovate and the outer ends gradually taper to a sharply pointed tip. The red leaf
stalks are short and stiff. Leaf colour is deep purple-red or maroon. Tones are brightest on new leaves and then become deeper in summer. The colour holds well but burns in hot locations.
The leaves turn bright crimson in the fall. A vigorous a sturdy grower. Becomes a tall upright
round headed tree.
